Burstable Bandwidth Calculation Method (applied only in Korea and Japan)
The highest daily bandwidth spike results are measured in the unit of 5 minutes according to MRTG. These results are all stored in monthly tables as shown in the image.
The 1st and 2nd TOP bandwidth spikes are discarded as shown in the image. Then, the calculation of the average result of the 3rd, 4th and 5th TOP bandwidth spike score is taken into consideration and consequently defined as the bandwidth usage for the relevant month.
If the monthly bandwidth usage exceeds customer’s committed bandwidth, then the customer will be asked to be charged for exceeded bandwidth ($7 for 1 Mbps). If the customer refuses to pay for exceeded bandwidth, the server connection speed will be limited to contractual bandwidth.
